Human Animal

During this workshop we will explore the landscape of our bodies, crossing the barriers in between disciplines to develop a better experience of ourselves. By cross analyzing human locomotion, we will integrate in our classes elements from various disciplines as dancing, martial arts and athletics - developing a more reactive and adaptable organism.

We will cover subjects such as joints articulations, body awareness, coordinations, movement situations, animal locomotion and improvisation. A space open for movement enthusiasts professional dancers, martial artists and other athletes who want to expand their repertoire, for personal trainers and physiotherapists and anyone else who seeks to learn, experience and play.

Driven by curiosity and with a sense of playfulness we are going to learn to move better on 2 feet and on 4 limbs, with ourselves and with others.

„Fighting Monkey is an applied practice for human development through movement founded by Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Frucek. Since 2002 Linda and Jozef have been developing it through a deep study on cross motion analysis and with aim to understand the principles of the human movement, communication and the aging process.

FM Practice research is centered around communication, physical dexterity and creative thinking and moving to be capable of solving real life problems and thrive in life.”

The workshop will be taught by Stefan Crainic, a ‘Fighting Monkey’ instructor and ex capoeira practitioner and teacher, in collaboration with Josephine Haas, professional dancer who worked for various companies and creates her own work, most recent piece being ‘swallow me’.
